BMTC Clubmark Accreditation Process
You may be aware that the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) has introduced a new scheme of 'accreditation' to raise club standards. Clubs who achieve accreditation status will receive a number of benefits, including access to wider publicity, permission to use the logo (which shows others that the club meets certain standards) and eligibility for LTA funding. Clubs who don't achieve will undoubtedly be at a disadvantage. As part of its Development Group, BMTC will therefore be working hard to achieve clubmark status over the forthcoming weeks/months.
As this is not such an easy task (!), you might be asked to do a number of things to help. One of the things BMTC will need to do is demonstrate that it has in place and adheres to a range of policies and procedures. Some of the things required we already do, and will just have to provide evidence for the Clubmark assessors. Other things we will need to tackle from scratch. This is where YOU come in!
• You might be asked to fill in new forms to help with this process and provide evidence that we can use in our file of information for the assessors to see.
• We will be looking more closely at such things as CRB checks for volunteers and you might be asked if you want to have one of these done for voluntary work with children, if you don’t already have an up to date LTA CRB check.
• You might be asked about existing club policies or to contribute to an area in which you have some expertise, such as health and safety or child protection. If you have any specialisms in these or other relevant areas, please speak to any member of the Club Development Team.
• Please keep an eye on this page where we will place any communication about the scheme and how you can help.
