BMTC Annual Tournament 2008
More than 20 people turned up for a very enjoyable tennis tournament on Sunday 14th September. Even the rain managed to keep away for the afternoon.
to ANNETTE CARTER and BEN WHITEHEAD who are this year's champions! Thanks to everyone who took part and raised valuable funds for the club.
BMTC Development Group
Following this year's AGM a 'Tennis Club Development Group' was established and has now met on three occassions. The group has developed an action plan to improve BMTC and enhance its membership, and is examining requirements for 'Club Mark' accreditation. Click here for further information on this process.
The development group recently invited all its members to help with some cosmetic improvements to what looks like a somewhat forgotten tennis pavillion! A painting afternoon was held on Sunday 22nd June which has begun to smarten up the appearance of the pavillion. Even an escaped prisoner turned up to help, and was (re)captured in the photograph below!

Many thanks to all of those who turned up to help out. Further days to continue this work are proposed in due course and will be advertised here.
This group will communicate further thoughts and proposals with all BMTC members in due course.
Key change
The padlock / key to the two courts directly outside the pavilion have been changed. To access the courts, members now have to enter the pavilion with the old key, then take the new key from the pin board (the one with the purple cover), open the court, then replace the key on the pin board.See the bottom of this page for great news about British Tennis, and how you can be involved this year...
